The study will provide a profile of the music industry in NB including an overview of the types of jobs, demographics, and income and expenditure trends. A series of recommendations will be made towards the development of a provincial music strategy led by Music/Musique NB. The study will also estimate the impact that the music industry has on the province including contribution to GDP, employment and tax revenues to government.
"This is an opportunity that doesn't come around very often! This survey gives the artists and all other industry professionals the chance to have their voices heard,” explains MNB Executive Director, Jean Surette. “This confidential information will be essential to a better understanding of the NB industry trends and its impact on the province's economy. These results will guide the association in the renewal of our strategic plan for 2014."
Nordicity will launch an online survey relevant to every artist and music business in New Brunswick in early July. The survey provides individuals and organizations the opportunity to can count themselves in the industry and to contribute towards its exciting future. The survey will close on Wednesday, July 31st and the final study will be published in fall 2013.
