Nordicity to develop Vancouver Island Coast Economic Developers Association’s (VICEDA) Technology Attraction Strategy
Posted by Carly Frey on Aug 08, 2018

In partnership with Big Bang Communications, Nordicity has been selected by the Vancouver Island Coast Economic Developers Association (VICEDA) to develop a technology attraction strategy for the benefit of its seven communities: the City of Campbell River, the City of Port Alberni, the City of Nanaimo, the City of Parksville, the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD), the Comox Valley and the Town of Qualicum Beach.

The Project Team will work closely with VICEDA to produce a future-facing, cost-effective and sustainable technology attraction strategy, employing four-phase methodology that includes an extensive literature review of best practices in tech-driven FDI attraction. In addition to the secondary research, the Project Team will engage with key stakeholders via interviews and roundtables.

The study’s findings will be compiled into a comprehensive strategy which will detail an inventory of the island’s tech sector and outline the key value propositions of the region. Additionally, the Project Team will develop a detailed implementation plan that will identify possible partners, as well as a high-level financial plan and timeline. In order to assist with ongoing attraction to the region, marketing tactics and tools will also be designed.

Nordicity’s Project Manager for the technology attraction strategy is Carly Frey:?
