British Council UK-Italy Season 2020 Evaluation

Nordicity, in partnership with Italy-based cultural and creative hub Materahub,is honored to be commissioned by the British Council to evaluate its UK-Italy 2020 Season, an exploring the value of the British Council’s arts showcasing work and festivals. The 2020 Season aims to strengthen and develop new cultural connections between the UK and Italy through the theme of Being Present – building on a global series of events to promote international exchange and introduce audiences around the world to the best of UK creativity, with a focus on innovation and the social impact of the arts.

The UK-Italy Season will center around creativity, innovation, inclusion and the advancement of positive messages for young audiences, aiming to ensure that cultural exchange remains in the next generation of cultural leaders, influencers and researchers in both countries. The development of the Season has begun by engaging artists, researchers, creative entrepreneurs and influencers to create an engaging program for autumn 2020. This will include delegations, public events, industry workshops, performances and exhibitions, supported and elevated by a major digital campaign.

For this engagement, Nordicity and Materahub will use evaluation methodology best practice, including an in-depth literature review, on-the-ground interviews and focus groups with key informants and stakeholders, and the design and dissemination of an online survey to capture the value and impact of the 2020 Season. This evaluation will provide insight into the positive impact and value of strong cultural relations on business, tourism, policy and culture.

The project will commence in March of 2020 for a duration of 12 months. Nordicity’s Project Manager for this project is Carly Freycfrey@nordicity.com
