Bashar has a background in policy analysis and programming, focusing on international security and governance, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and business plan development. He has gained extensive knowledge producing policy reports and briefs for government and non-governmental organizations as well as organizing capacity-building programs.
Prior to Nordicity, Bashar was a Policy Analyst for the BC Council for International Cooperation and a Business Associate for the Investment and Technology Promotion office of UNIDO. He worked closely with various entities including Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society, Cooperation Canada, ESDC’s SDG Unit, Global Affairs Canada, German Agency (GIZ), German Council (RNE), Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies, UNDESA, and UNDP.
His latest publications include an in-depth research study and policy brief on sustainable development advisory councils in eight countries and a working paper on transformative actions for sustainable development through effective SDG coalitions.
