With a background in international cultural policy development, Carly has extensive knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing creative and cultural industries worldwide. She is an interdisciplinary thinker who bridges innovation, culture, commerce and social impact – assisting non-profits, industry associations, governments, and civic authorities in enabling the growth and impact of the arts, culture and heritage sectors.
Carly develops business and digital strategies, advises on regulatory policy, evaluates programs, assesses industry needs, advances Equity, Diversity & Inclusion mandates, and performs impact and feasibility analyses for clients including the British Council, the Danish Centre for Culture and Development, UNESCO, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA), the Mayor of London, and a wide range of federal, territorial, provincial and local government bodies across Canada. She has led several cultural planning processes at the municipal level, driven by innovative engagement and impact assessment methodologies, as well as digital and creative placemaking strategies.
Carly is a creative consultant and a dedicated team leader with strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. She maintains a track record of fostering strategic partnerships and sustainable outcomes across rapidly evolving and complex cultural ecosystems.
Prior to joining Nordicity, Carly was a London-based Specialist Advisor to the British Council’s Creative Economy global program – and its lead for Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia – as well as a technical expert for UNESCO, supporting the design and management of cultural production, distribution and governance in emerging markets.
