Two strategic cultural plans developed by Nordicity in partnership with municipal clients have been shortlisted for this year’s Creative City Network of Canada Impact Awards.

The first, Culture Connects Us: Strategic Cultural Plan (2025–2035), developed with the City of Courtenay, sets out a ten-year vision for embedding arts and culture into everyday community life. Building on previous community-informed planning initiatives, Culture Connects Us envisions Courtenay as a culturally vibrant and inclusive community where arts, culture, and heritage strengthen connection, creativity, and quality of life.

Also shortlisted is Stay for the Culture (2025–2030), developed with the City of St. Catharines. The five-year strategy provides a roadmap for strengthening the city’s arts, culture, and heritage sector, with a focus on fostering a vibrant cultural ecosystem that supports community identity, creativity, economic vitality, and quality of life.

The winners will be announced at the Creative City Summit on October 7. Nordicity’s Louisa Plant will join City of Courtenay representatives Susie Saunders and Joy Chan to co-present the Culture Connects Us strategy at the conference.

Congratulations to our Courtenay project team – Louisa Plant, Peter Lyman, Barbara Dzidzornu Adagblenya, and Lianne Moeller – and to our partners at the City of Courtenay.
