Hong Yoong

Reason and evidence are only valuable when they lead to understanding.
With more than a decade of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis experience, Hong develops detailed methodologies to build strong, evidence-based cases for clients’ needs and questions.
Hong specializes in research and analysis to support strategic planning and impact studies for video games and related creative and cultural industries – from film to live performing arts. He has particular expertise in creative industries tax credits, including how they are applied across jurisdictions and their economic impacts.
Before joining Nordicity, Hong pursued an academic path in Classics (Greek and Latin Literature), where he honed his skills in qualitative research and analysis. He later complemented this foundation with an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, combining critical thinking with a pragmatic approach to quantitative research. His interest in the video games industry emerged during his graduate studies and ultimately guided his transition into applied research.
At Nordicity, Hong helps clients and their interest-holders understand how effective tax credit measures can sustain and grow specific industries within a jurisdiction. He is also a strong advocate for resource- and opportunity-driven development in the creative industries – helping companies, teams, and individuals turn ideas into artistically and commercially successful creative products.
