Joy Pan

I bridge global insights with local contexts to help grow communities.
Joy brings a collaborative approach to every project, combining innovative thinking with practical implementation.
Joy specializes in strategic planning, community engagement, and project management. She has led and supported municipal and regional projects across Canada, drawing on her expertise in economic and social impact assessment, innovative financing for the arts, organizational business planning, and advancing equity and inclusion in the creative economy.
Prior to Nordicity, Joy worked in a business school and an innovation accelerator in China, where she designed executive learning programs and supported overseas tech start-ups entering the Chinese market. These roles deepened her intercultural perspective and honed her ability to turn research into strategy through a design-thinking lens.
Joy holds an MA in International and Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver and an MBA from Simon Fraser University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has completed Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+).
She is especially passionate about two types of intersections: bridging global insights with local context to create spaces for learning, and applying innovative business thinking to traditionally non-profit spaces to spark new possibilities.
