Economic Impact Assessments
Nordicity was engaged by the City of Toronto to evaluate the impact of increased municipal funding to a range of cultural initiatives, including the Toronto Arts Council, cultural infrastructure investment, support for local arts service organizations, and major cultural organizations.
Nordicity was engaged by ESAC (for the third time) to create an economic impact assessment of the games industry in Canada (in 2017).
The London Design Festival engaged Nordicity to prepare an analysis of its impact on London and UK economies. The analysis considered the various channels through which the festival has an economic impact, including festival operations, tourism, new business for design companies, inward investment, human capital development and promotion of the UK/London brand.
Nordicity was commissioned by the Greater London Authority (GLA) to support the Mayor of London’s ‘music cities’ initiative and the London Music Board in protecting London’s 85+ grassroots venues, and to help create a landscape in which new venues can open.
NCC enagaged Environics-the prime consultant, and Nordicity to conduct a visitor survey and an economic impact analysis of visitors.
Since 1996, Nordicity produced an annual comprehensive compilation of economic statistics on the screen-based production industry in Canada, including film, television and digital media production.
Manitoba Music commissioned Nordicity to develop a sector profile and economic impact assessment of the music industry in Manitoba (SoundCheck 2016). Previous music industry economic impact assessments were published by Manitoba Music in 2005, 2008, and 2012.
