Brian Christensen

Brian is a dedicated and interdisciplinary researcher with experience in government and politics and in the performing arts.

Prior to joining Nordicity, Brian was a senior advisor to a member of Edmonton City Council, where he developed a keen sense of municipal governance and policy issues including regional economic development, oversight of agencies, boards and commissions, and land rezoning and development. Brian also draws upon over a decade of work in the performing arts as a musician, stage actor and composer to augment his perspectives on the creative and cultural industries. He recently completed his Master’s thesis research in the intersection of municipal land use policy and performing arts venues, during which he also provided teaching support for undergraduate creative industries courses.
