Research and Stakeholder Engagement
Charlotte is a dynamic communicator and highly engaged researcher with an academic background in media studies. In her transition into industry, she leverages her expertise in the dynamics and operation of the video game industry, particularly games-as-a-service business models, Big Tech and platform interdependencies, eSports, and live-streaming ecosystems. She has an affinity for strategic analysis, qualitative research approaches, and knowledge mobilization.
Prior to Nordicity, Charlotte worked as a graduate researcher and teaching assistant at Western University. She conducted research and provided administrative support for the SSHRC-funded project Big Data at the Margins. She has also taught course sections on contemporary media theory, the political economy of communication, and media policy. Concurrently, Charlotte worked as a freelance consultant in the digital interactive media sector. Notably, she worked with stakeholders and executives at a multinational video game company to develop and implement strategic regulatory watch systems, as to better anticipate tectonic industry changes.
