Dustin combines over 25 years of experience in film, television, and media sector with expertise in economic, financial, and statistical analysis. He has built a career on doing one thing extremely well: economic analysis. He subscribes to the school of thought that economic theory can explain much of what happens around us. (Yes, he’s a Freakonomics fan.)

Over the past two decades, Dustin has built Nordicity’s fledgling economic analysis capacity into one of the firm’s core capabilities. Along the way, he has developed in-house economic impact models that have helped governments and businesses around the world quantify the value of the creative industries, secure public investment, and shape government policy.

But it’s not just about the numbers for Dustin. He is also passionate about making complex economic ideas and statistics accessible to diverse audiences – from government ministers to film producers, industry regulators, and corporate boards. His communications skills have earned him the privilege of providing expert testimony at the Federal Court of Canada, Scottish Broadcasting Commission, Planning Inspectorate, Senate of Canada, and Copyright Board of Canada, as well as at numerous industry forums.
