The City of Courtenay commissioned us to develop a Strategic Cultural Plan as a bold 10-year strategy to position the city as a thriving cultural hub. The resulting plan, Culture Connects Us, lays the foundation for a vibrant, inclusive future for Courtenay – where arts and culture play a pivotal role in community identity and resilience.

We worked with Nanaimo Art Gallery to explore options for a new facility, from site selection and feasibility through to business planning. Working alongside the City of Nanaimo, Iredale Architecture, and Global Philanthropic, we assessed redevelopment and new-build options, engaged the community, and developed a clear roadmap and financial model to support the Gallery’s future.

We worked with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George to develop a five-year Regional Cultural Plan, helping shape a shared direction for eight cultural sites serving communities across the region. We later returned to review the District’s approach to cultural funding, developing recommendations to better reflect the needs and activities of each site and strengthen the impact of cultural investment across the region.
